So yesterday was the Jack Johnson concert in San Diego = A-MA-ZING
We [being me, Natalie and Thomas Cummins, Alex Lawrence, and Thomas Bender] gathered at the Cummin's at 1:30 and left for In-N-Out. Then we continued on to San Diego, which took about 2047502840248 bajillion hours to get there, crammed in the backseat of a F-150 truck with two other people. But it was actually fun. We got to UCSD and spent a half hour trying to figure out where to park, and once we did, spent a good 45 minutes waiting in line just to be let in. They let us in at about 5:15.
Once we were let in, we staked out a spot with some blankets we brought, and waited in line for tee-shirts and other merchandise for a good 45 minutes - 1 hour. But we had so much time anyways.
The first opening band came on at 7:00, Animal Liberation Orchestra, whom I really enjoyed. They played for a little less than an hour. Next came Matt Costa, who is from Huntington Beach. He was amazing. I really really liked him. He played for a little over an hour.
THEN JACK BABY!! He came out and opened up with Never Know, ended with Better Together, and played something from every CD in between. He is AMAZING, truly a talented artist. Really a fantastic concert.
He played for about 2 1/2 hours. Then we made our way amongst the stampede of people to the exit and spent a half hour waiting to get out of the parking lot. But we did, and it only took about an hour and 15 minutes to get home. I got home at 1 and went to bed.
Overall, amazing experience and I got a frickin cool tee-shirt!!
And to everyone who is going to see him tonight in Irvine, have fun! It's really a great show!
I'll be gone pretty much for the next two weeks, so you might not be hearing from me much, but in the mean time,
love love love
